Description
2 mm diameter tapioca pearls, also known as Japanese or Asian pearls. Widely used in traditional Asian cuisine and increasingly in modern Western gastronomy. One of their properties is absorbing the liquid aromas in which they are cooked, making them a very versatile ingredient. When cooked they develop a soft, jelly-like texture and a transparent color. Can contain SOY, EGG, PEANUT, NUT, SESAME seeds, CELERY, MUSTARD and SULFITE particles.Just like tapioca starch, the pearls act as thickeners, so they are used in puddings, soups; used in Taiwanese traditional bubble tea.
